You have a couple of options for this assignment.
1. Convert a Black and White Photograph to Colour in Photoshop
- Find a black and white head shot like the one below. Make sure to save the original photograph as I would like to see the before and after when you submit this assignment.
- The following tutorials are here just to get you started. Research online to see if you can find more.

- Try to be as detailed as possible when completing this assignment. Take your time in colourizing all the aspects of the photograph.
2. Upgrading your Photoshop Skills
- For the next few week we will be focussing on Photoshop. If you have not spent much time in this program, I encourage you to choose this assignment option.
- Watch the following tutorials in order:
- http://tutvid.com/the-basics-of-smart-objects-photoshop-cs2/
- http://tutvid.com/all-about-photoshop-curves-adjustment/
- http://tutvid.com/create-a-chrome-text-effect-photoshop-cs2/
- As you are watching the tutorials, I will expect you to try out your newly learned skills in Photoshop. Make sure to take screen shots!!!
- In your logbook entries each day I will expect you to tell me:
- What tutorial you watched.
- Anything new that you learned.
- At least 3 screen shots of what you worked on in Photoshop as you were watching the tutorials.
3. Design your own assignment.
- Your must have your assignment pre-approved by Ms. McGill.
- The assignment must include an online tutorial (video or written) that you will follow.
- Logbook entries are essential if you choose this option. If you miss one logbook entry, I will ask you to choose one of the other assignment options. The logbooks must be as detailed as possible, including multiple screen shots.
